People transacting with offices of the Cebu Provincial Government will soon have more parking spaces to use in the Capitol compound.
However, to minimize people from leaving their cars at the Capitol compound to do their business somewhere else, the Provincial Government of Cebu will be charging the use of the parking area, which is near the Cebu Heritage Park.
"It's really not to earn. It's really more to control because we would like nga priority usa ang mga naa opisina dire ang naggamit kay nahimo na ni nga free for all nga parking lot," Garcia announced during a press conference on Wednesday, February 19.
She noticed that the area, which the past administration had intended as a place to build a 20-storey building, has been used as free parking by car owners who are not connected with the Capitol.
"I have already instructed the engineering (department) and the PGSO (Provincial General Services Office) to please put up barriers and set up a system," Garcia said.
Parking fee charges will possibly be pegged at P20 for the first three hours and P10 for the succeeding hours. (Vanessa L. Almeda)
