Colors blend well in the seventh district - all for the best interest of the Cebuanos and the Province of Cebu.
Payout of cash incentive to barangay tanods took place in Moalboal town, the host local government unit, today, February 29.
A total of 1,720 barangay tanods from Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal, Badian, Alegria, Malabuyoc, and Ginatilan received the promised hike in cash incentive, or now worth P3,000 from P1,500.
They also received their share of the tanod kits labelled Government Working for Emergency Network. It has a flashlight, a cudgel, a whistle, and compartments for other tools.
Jaws dropped, presumably in disbelief, at the good news that tanods are now enrolled in the GSIS group accident insurance package worth P50 thousand, with burial assistance worth P10 thousand.
Further, tanods will get new uniform just like the other barangay frontliners - health workers, nutrition scholars, animal health aides, and daycare workers.
Governor Gwendolyn Garcia pointed out that the payout is just for 2019 yet. "Sa ato pa ning supplemental budget last year. Makadawat pa mo'g laing incentive for this year," she underscored.
Seventh district mayors committed to a perfect attendance despite tight schedule - and political affiliation.
Garcia has high praises for the 100-percent attendance of Malabuyoc Mayor Lito Creus, Ronda Mayor Terence Blanco, Alcantara Mayor Fritz Lastimoso, Moalboal Mayor Paz "Lingling" Rozgoni, Alegria Mayor Verna Magallon, Badian Mayor Carmen Lumain, Dumanjug Mayor Efren Guntrano "Gun-gun" Gica, and Ginatilan Mayor Dean Michael Cinco.
"Magpasalamat gyud ko nga perfect attendance ang atong mga mayor sa walo ka lungsod sa ikapitong distrito. Sa una, nagbinugnoay ta sa balota, karon nagkahiusa na ta. Sa una nagkalainlain ang atong bulok sa politika. Apan sa atong pagpangalagad, alang sa atong pinalanggang Sugbo, kita nagkahiusa na," Garcia expressed her joy in the gesture.
Others who demonstrated full-force support to the event are Cebu 7th District Rep. Peter John Calderon, 7th district Provincial Board Members Christopher "Dong" Baricuatro and Jerome Librando, and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president Jerico Rubio. (Eleanor Valeros)
